Challenger TAFE Adult Education Bonsai Workshop #2 - 2004

The Venue

Conducted by Challenger TAFE Centre for Adult Education, our second "Basics of Bonsai" workshop in this series was again held at John Curtin College of the Arts in Fremantle on Saturday 6th of March 2004, with a total of 17 Bonsai enthusiasts enrolled for the day.

The large Science Lab setting was again ideal, giving us plenty of room for presenter Liana, assistant Gay, all attendees and an enormous amount of Bonsai requisites.

The Event

Fun at Workshop #2

Following a well organised but hectic morning set up, all seventeen students were soon comfortably seated around the long bench.

Having prior knowledge of a large group of participants for this Workshop, we came well prepared with Bonsai ‘goodies’.  Gay looked after enrolments, superb tea, coffee and drinking water distribution amongst students and Liana handled the agenda, Bonsai creation and individual student tuition.

All participants had the opportunity to create their own Bonsai and to work on wiring, trimming, repotting and final presentation.

Bonsai Palace once again supplied excess amounts of soils, gravels, tubes of trees and ground cover, giving each participant a bag full of goodies to take home at the end of the workshop.

With thoughtful presentation and time management everyone seemed overjoyed with the day and many participants needed to make two trips to their cars with the quantities of beautiful items that they created.

Our thanks to Challenger TAFE Centre for Adult Education and congratulations to all of our enthusiastic attendees - a job well done...!
